Occupy protesters plans for caucuses

DES MOINES (AP) ? Occupy Des Moines organizers are making plans for large-scale demonstrations surrounding the Iowa caucuses.
One of the organizers, Stephen Toothman of Des Moines, told the Register that many arrests are expected, so demonstrators will be trained for encounters with police.
The Iowa group hopes to attract protesters in the Occupy Wall Street movement from across the United States to its so-called ?First-in-the-Nation Caucus Occupation.? The Iowa caucuses are Jan. 3. Organizers say they don?t want to disrupt the caucus process itself and intend the events to be non-violent.
Occupy Des Moines says it will hold an organizational meeting and disobedience training on Dec. 27. Demonstrations are being planned at candidates? Des Moines campaign offices for Dec. 28-30. Activities for Dec. 31-Jan. 3 are still being planned.
