Off-road registration renewals due soon

Washington County Recorder Jo Greiner has issued a statement reminding residents that all ATVs, off-road utility vehicles, snowmobiles and off-road motorcycles must be renewed by Dec. 31 to avoid a penalty.

The renewal fee for off-highway vehicles with current registrations is $17.75. Greiner said a $5 fee would be added to owners’ renewal costs, however, starting Jan. 1.

“It’s just for everyone’s convenience to register at a cheaper price,” Greiner said. “It’s state code, they want a cut off date to have the vehicles all registered by.”

Additionally, snowmobile owners who want to ride on public property must purchase a trail pass in addition to the registration renewal, according to the Recorder’s office.
