Officials investigating Wednesday death in Olds

OLDS ? Law enforcement officials are investigating the death of a male Wednesday in a residence in Olds.

According to a report from the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), a woman placed a 911 call late Wednesday afternoon from 201 South Smith Street in Olds, reporting that her husband had assaulted her.

The Henry County Sheriff?s Office and Iowa State Patrol responded to the call. Upon arriving at the residence, officers made contact with the female occupant of the home. She reportedly had sustained multiple injuries and reported that her husband had assaulted her.

Officers searched the remainder of the residence and discovered the male occupant of the home on the kitchen floor. He was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy was scheduled today at the University of Iowa?s Decedent Care Center.

The female was transported to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment of her injuries.

The DCI, with the assistance of the Henry County Sheriff?s Office and Iowa State Patrol, is conducting an investigation into the domestic abuse.

Names of the individuals involved have yet to be released, pending notification of family members.
