MT. PLEASANT - Some new faces will be gracing the KILJ stage this summer during the annual Midwest Old Threshers Reunion.
Old Threshers announced their entertainment lineup on Wednesday night at the Chamber's Alive After Five event.
The five day celebration, which will take place from Sept. 3 through Sept. 7, will kick off with the Don Carlson Memorial Horse Bowl on Wednesday evening. Musical entertainment at the Grandstand will begin Thursday evening with Lorrie Morgan, followed by Carly Pearce on Friday, Craig Morgan on Saturday and Rodney Atkins on Sunday. All concerts start a 8 p.m., rain or shine.
'We're very excited, three of these are newcomers. We're excited to have new people on our stage,” Grant Davidson, public relations and marketing director for the Reunion, said. Craig Morgan, who last performed at the Reunion in 2014, is the only returning artist.
'People are usually most excited for those Saturday and Sunday night performers. Thursday performers are usually for the older crowd and Friday is the new, up and coming artist,” Davidson added.
Though the lineup doesn't have a particular theme, Davidson said a fun and convenient coincidence the Reunion has fallen into two years in a row is featuring artists who are linked to the year's featured tractor.
'Last year, we did Joe Biffy who sang John Deere. This year we have Craig Morgan, who has the song International Harvester,” Davidson said.
Admission to the concerts is included with general admission to the Reunion but reserved seating for concerts can also be purchased for an additional $10, Davidson said.
