One injured after being run over at boat ramp

One subject was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics by helicopter for serious injuries sustained at the Brighton boat ramp Saturday night.

A news release from Washington County Communications said they received a report of a subject that had possibly been run over by vehicles that had rolled down the boat ramp.

“Upon arrival, officers observed two vehicles on the riverbank with one of the vehicles being partially submerged in the river,” the news release said. “A subject with serious injuries was located near the vehicles.”

Units responded from Washington County Ambulance, Washington Fire and Rescue, Brighton Fire, Bright QRS, the Washington County Sheriff's Office and Washington County Conservation, according to the release.

Washington County Conservation will handle further investigation of the incident.
