Opening convocation to be held at IWC Thursday

Iowa Wesleyan College will mark the beginning of a new school year with the opening convocation Thursday, Aug. 23, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel Auditorium. The event is open to the public.

Iowa Wesleyan President Jay Simmons will give the welcome and present the Iowa Wesleyan College Honor Code. Greetings will be presented by Don Wiley, chair of the Iowa Wesleyan Board of Trustees; Ann Klingensmith, chair of the faculty; and Boudicca Fisher, president of the Student Government Association.

The convocation address will be given by Dr. Jeffrey Fager, vice president for academic affairs.

Music will be provided by Carl Moehlman, college organist, and the Iowa Wesleyan College Choir, under the direction of Bradley Miller, assistant professor of music.
