The Grange Public House and Brewery was packed for its official opening on Monday evening. The decision to open at the beginning of the week followed the health inspector's approval, and the staff was eager to open the doors.
'Our opening went as restaurants go,” General Manager and Brewmaster Eric Sørensen said. 'A lot of folks showed up. Some enjoyed it. Some didn't.”
A few of the customers were not satisfied with the long wait time, as the staff had to follow COVID safety measures and deal with the large crowds.
'You can't always please everyone, and as an upscale service, we just want to make everyone's experience as good as we can,” he said. 'We actually had a friends and family invite opening last week, and it was really gratifying to see some of those people come back for the opening, all because they liked what we were doing.”
The Grange Public House and Brewery offers a diverse food menu with classic bar food such as wings, steak, and burgers, and non-traditional bar food like pasta, Korean-style fried chicken and deconstructed cheesecake.
In addition to a fun menu, The Grange also has an interesting interior layout. The dining section only takes up part of the space, which is filled with wood tables, repurposed church pews, and big windows that are currently covered to hide the brewery side to come.
Sørensen added that he and his wife, Sue, the owner, are glad they decided to open The Grange Public House and Brewery in Mt. Pleasant, and that they hope more folks will find something they like and the experience will improve with time.
'If you're happy with the experience, then tell your friends. If you're unhappy, please tell us, and we'll try to make it right,” Sørensen said.
