Oskaloosa man arrested following escape from Department of Corrections

MT. PLEASANT - An Oskaloosa man who had previously escaped from the custody of the Iowa Department of Corrections was arrested on Wednesday by the Henry County Sheriff's Office.
Tyler Conrad, 25, made several attempts to elude law enforcement on a motorcycle before crashing and being arrested.
According to a news release from the Henry County Sheriff's Office:
Conrad fled from Mt. Pleasant Police when officers attempted to stop Conrad for operating a motorcycle without a registration plate. At the time, he was last seen at Oakland Mills, heading southbound.
Conrad would later be spotted by a sheriff deputy north of Salem. During a pursuit, Conrad lost control of the motorcycle at Main and Pioneer in Salem. The motorcycle was later found to be stolen from Webster City. Conrad had an active felony arrest warrant for escape from the Department of Corrections.
Following his arrest, Conrad was charged with eluding law enforcement, possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension and multiple traffic violations.
The Henry County Sheriff's Office completed a state accident report for the motorcycle
A state accident report was completed by the Henry County Sheriff's Office for the motorcycle crash.
The Henry County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Mount Pleasant Police Department.
