Our safety vs. a few pounds of sand

I have been a resident of Mt Pleasant for almost three years now and wish someone would explain to the town officials that human lives and property are more valuable than sand.
I cannot understand why trucks filled with sand, only sand certain streets and then only portions of those streets. My area around Bergdal Ct. is never ever sanded after a snow storm. King (Street) is sometimes partially sanded ? usually one side. How long does it take for the truck driver to circle North and South Bergdahl Ct.?
The thought process behind not sanding these streets would be an interesting debate in a court of law should an accident occur on an un-sanded street while other streets around the area have been sanded. I wonder, if the town can be sued?
Human lives and property are more valuable than sand and it would only take an extra five minutes to drop sand on North and South Bergdal Ct. I have seen other streets in the town also sand-less after a snowfall. This should not be. All the city streets of Mt Pleasant should be sanded after a snowfall.
Grand Ave., Oakland Mills Road, Highway 34, and W55 (Franklin) are always sanded. Why? Because those are trucker?s thoroughfares. So the decision by the town to make these roads safer for business comes at the expense of some Mt. Pleasant residents who can?t get in and out of their own streets and into their own driveways without sliding on the un-sanded roads.
Once again ? human lives and property are more valuable than sand. Our town officials need to brush the sand off their decision-making and put it on our roads. Maybe the truck drivers are at fault, cutting corners without sanding? Either way, this policy must change before someone gets hurt. If all the streets are going to be plowed then sand all the streets also.
