Pair injured when SUV hits bridge
Two motorists were injured July 1 in a single-vehicle accident near the intersection of old Highway 21 and U.S. Highway 218 in the southbound lanes.
According to the Mt. Police Department Keri Nacole Herr, of Mt. Pleasant, was driving a 1997 Ford Expedition when she swerved the vehicle to avoid striking a dear.

Two motorists were injured July 1 in a single-vehicle accident near the intersection of old Highway 21 and U.S. Highway 218 in the southbound lanes.
According to the Mt. Police Department Keri Nacole Herr, of Mt. Pleasant, was driving a 1997 Ford Expedition when she swerved the vehicle to avoid striking a dear.
After swerving, Herr lost control of the vehicle and struck a bridge located near the intersection. The vehicle then rolled once and came to rest on its wheels on the west shoulder/ditch area of U.S. Highway 218.
Herr and a passenger in the vehicle were transported to the Henry County Health Center.
Herr was cited for failing to maintain control of a motor vehicle and violating the conditions of a restricted license.
Henry County paramedics and the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department all responded and assisted at the scene.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and a defendant is considered innocent until proven guilty.
