In honor of Belle Mansfield, Iowa Wesleyan College offered a full day of celebration and female empowerment on Thursday, March 26, as the second annual Mansfield Symposium. At 11 a.m. on Thursday, students, faculty and residents of Mt. Pleasant filled the Adam Trieschmann Hall of Science Auditorium on the IWC campus for the panel discussion: ?Women entrepreneurs: Daring to be bold by stepping out on their own.? Panelists, from left, Melinda Bickel, marketing, events, sales and co-owner of Bickel?s Cycling and Fitness in Burlington; Michal Eynon-Lynch, co-founder, chief operating officer and chief educator of Pear Deck in Iowa City; and Jessica Ledger-Kalen, president and co-founder of Royale Concrete in Fairfield discuss what it?s like to be a female business owner.
