Sam Zeleny is a senior for the Mt. Pleasant softball team, who hit .125 this season with a .462 on base percentage.

Zeleny is also a member of the Panther volleyball team. She committed to Friends University for the sport of volleyball earlier this season.

Zeleny met with The News before practice on Friday where she talked about her plans after high school, favorite softball memory and various other subjects.

Did you grow up here in Mt. Pleasant? Yes, I did.

How long have you been playing softball? Probably since I was five. I?ve been playing T-ball since I was five.

Did you always know you?d play in high school? I don?t know. I guess I just kind of assumed. Like, there was no question about it. It was always like, ?yeah I?m going to play softball.?

I think I already know this, but what are you doing after high school? I?m going to Friends University in Wichita, Kan. I?ll be playing volleyball and majoring in zoo science.

Is it fun to tell people you?re going to Friends University? No because most of the time people laugh at me!

Do you have a favorite softball memory? Oh, here?s a hard one?The third round game last year when we made it to state. That was pretty cool.

What is a better feeling, a hit in softball or a kill in volleyball? That?s a tough one. Probably a hit in volleyball just because I haven?t been playing volleyball as long as I?ve been playing softball. I?m not as advanced in volleyball as I am in softball, so it?s more of an accomplishment for me.

If you could hang out with one living person for a whole day, who would you choose? You know what? I would hang out with the Chrisley family, can I say that?

The Chrisley family? Yeah, like you know the show ?Chrisley knows best??

No, what channel is that on? USA. It?s a reality TV show. I?d hang out with that family for a day.

Well, what would you do with the Chrisley family? What would I do? Go to their juice bar. They own like a juice bar down in Nashville.

What?s your favorite iPhone app? I like Twitter. Does that count as an iPhone app?

Yeah, totally. Do you have a favorite Twitter follow? I knew you were gonna ask me that. Umm?no, probably not.

Rap, Country or Rock and Roll? Country.

Who?s your favorite artist? I like Jason Aldean and Florida-Georgia Line

Hawkeyes or Cyclones? Hawkeyes!

Are you a morning person or night person? Oh, I?m a night person.

Night person? So what time do you go to bed? Like midnight, two in the morning. It just depends on what I?m feeling.

Alright, favorite movie? I like the Hunger Games series.

For a million dollars, could you go a whole year without Internet? A whole year? Yeah, probably. I mean, I can go two weeks without Internet, I bet I could go a year.

Favorite class in school? I don?t know if I had a favorite class.

Did you have a favorite teacher? Umm?I liked Mrs. Pomeroy and I liked Mrs. Kohorst, but I don?t really like Math or English.

Do you have a least favorite subject? I don?t like Chemistry, that kind of sucks.
