Panther softball players earn all-SEC honors, team awards
Six Mt. Pleasant players were awarded all-Southeast Conference recognition for their efforts this softball season, including a pair of first team selections.

Six Mt. Pleasant players were awarded all-Southeast Conference recognition for their efforts this softball season, including a pair of first team selections.
Sammi Goble and Leslie Taylor were named first team all-conference.
Goble, the team?s only senior, led the SEC with six triples this season. She was a team leader in batting average (.403, third in the SEC) and slugging percentage (.597, fourth in the SEC).
Taylor, a junior, led Mt. Pleasant and was sixth in the SEC with an on-base percentage of .443. She was also a team leader in steals, along with Brianna Shelman ? each finished the season with 12.
Mt. Pleasant catcher Morgan Fraise was named second team all-conference. She was third in the SEC with seven runners caught stealing Teammate Sarah Moffett was tied first first in that category with nine caught stealing this season.
Fraise, a freshman, was also third on the team with a batting average of .347, and second in doubles with eight on the year.
Two Panthers were also given and all-conference honorable mention: sophomore Hattie Liechty and junior Ali Dorn.
Finally, one Mt. Pleasant player earned academic all-conference honors: Kelsey Smith.
The team also gave out awards at its end-of-season banquet.
Taylor received the Panther Award; Smith was named Most Improved; Ali Dorn earned the Defense Award; and Goble received a pair of honors: Offensive Award and MVP.
