Parkinson support group to meet

The Southeast Iowa Area Parkinson Support Group will be holding a meeting on Thursday, Aug. 18, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Blackhawk Room in the lower level of Great River Rehabilitation Center on Gear Ave., Burlington.

Registration for the event will begin at 1:30 p.m.

Jay Blakenship, executive director of the Wisconsin Parkinson Association will be there to give an overview of the WPA and the Regional Center, the Parkinson Research Institute and some current projects. He will have the latest news about research, treatment and general information and some tips for living well with Parkinsons. It will be an informal event that invites open discussion.

Refreshments, fellowship, conversation and support for each other will follow.
