WASHINGTON — A stretch of Lexington Boulevard from the Sheriff’s Office to the Recycling Center is closed through Friday, according to an announcement from Washington County.
The closure is the first of several where all traffic will be blocked for a portion of the road, which is undergoing a concrete overlay along with West Fifth Street. Contractors hope to finish the work and reopen the roads by the end of the month.
“At times access may be limited or from other ways than normally traveled,” the notice said. “Residents are encouraged to use the designated detour route and to use caution while traveling on the detour or in the area of the work zone.”
Detours have been arranged to both ends of the closed area, via West 18th Street and Highway 1. Further questions about the project can be directed to the Washington County Engineer's Office.
