To the editor:
On Monday, the community will find out the fate of Libertyville Elementary School. Before that takes place, I'd like to publicly thank Paul Miller, School Board Member, for the extra time and effort he has put into researching other districts and actively exploring every other avenue to avoid closing the doors of a beloved elementary school. It is apparent to me and other members of this community, that Paul's position has not been popular with some other board members and district officials.
I'd like to remind the public that sitting on the school board is an elected position. Are all of the members that we voted for representing us the way we'd like them to? I encourage you to contact them and find out before the next school board meeting on Monday.
Again, a big thank you to Paul Miller, for representing the members of your community who don't want to see Libertyville Elementary close and for not backing down in the face of adversity. We recognize your effort and want you to know that your unwavering support has been appreciated.
