WASHINGTON — PAWS & More held a seasonally appropriate party Saturday afternoon, opening the shelter’s doors for trick-or-treat with the animals, many wearing their own costumes.
“It’s trick-or-treat with the animals, bringing treats for them,” Shelter Director Amber Talbot said. “And we’re waiving cat adoption fees. And, it’s Halloween, and it’s fun.”
Talbot said the event was a hit, as the shelter was flooded with families eager to adopt a new four-legged friend.
“We usually do some Halloween party, it’s a little different every year,” she said. “This is our first year with the fee waived … it’s safe, these are loving homes, and reducing barriers doesn’t mean that it’s detrimental for the animal.”
