WASHINGTON — The PAWS & More Animal Shelter has announced a surprised adoption fee-waiving event this weekend.
On June 24, the shelter said it would accept donations of canned cat food in lieu of adoption fees for felines that are at least a year old. While kittens also will be up for adoption, they’ll still come with the regular $105 fee.
"Come help us help our animals by donating paté style kitty food, and take home a free purr machine,“ the shelter said in a Facebook post. ”We love our cats and we can’t wait to see them go to wonderful new homes.“
In the same post, the shelter said cats up for adoption would already be spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations and preventatives, microchipped, “and ready to love you!”
