PAWS waiving adoption fees, raising funds
Jan. 5, 2023 10:03 am
WASHINGTON — Staff at PAWS & More have an eventful several weeks ahead of them.
On Jan. 7 and 8, the shelter will waive fees for kitten and cat adoptions from noon to 4 p.m. Shelter Director Amber Talbot said they had 70 kittens and cats in their care, from ages 3 months to 10 years, all eager for a new forever home.
On Jan. 14 and 15, the shelter will host a photo shoot fundraiser, also from noon to 4 p.m.
“Rachel Lynn Photography will be turning our catio into a photo studio with a love-themed backdrop,” Shelter Director Amber Talbot said. “Sessions are 20 minutes long, pets are welcome, and the cost is $100.”
Half the revenue will go to the shelter itself. The nonprofit has established a webpage to sign up for photo times. Talbot said all animals were welcome — not just cats — and that one person had signed up for photos with a goat.
On Feb. 15, the shelter will have another fundraiser, this time at Cafe Dodici, where part of the whole day’s sale revenue will be donated to the shelter.
