Elizabeth Garrels spoke briefly on goal setting and membership. She reported that there are more than 240,000 members of PEO.
Attention was called to the July-August issue of The PEO Record. Garrels is pictured receiving an honorary degree from IWC during commencement ceremonies on May 7, as a woman committed to higher education.
Notice was also taken of an article in this issue of The PEO Record announcing new educational offerings at Cottey College. Approval has been received for three baccalaureate programs in addition to the traditional associate degree programs. Cottey College was accepted by PEO in 1927 as a gift from its founder Virginia Alice Cottey Stockard. It is the only nonsectarian college in the United States owned and supported by women, for women.
The next regular meeting will be hosted by Jennifer Kohorst on Monday, Aug. 8, at 9 a.m.
