PEO Chapter NZ update

Members viewed the video ?Sharing the History of the Sarah Porter Beckwith Home.? The house at 601 West Monroe Street, Mt. Pleasant, was given to the PEO Sisterhood in 1929 by Sarah Porter Beckwith and served for more than 60 years as a retirement home for PEO members.
Information for the video, created after the home?s closing, was researched and written by Mildred Bensmiller and narrated by Carol Nemitz.
A family picnic will be held Sunday, Sept. 11, at East Lake Park. Games for children will begin at 4:30 p.m. A potluck supper will be held at 5:30 p.m. Members are asked to bring their own table service.
