Performing Arts Series schedule announced

WASHINGTON — Taking the stage in Hanson Auditorium for the 2023-2024 season, in what board member Bob Youngquist declared, “perhaps the best season yet,” are Divas 3, Charlie Albright, Wartburg Choir, SE Iowa Band, and An Evening of Improv.
“This season provides the perfect mix of internationally acclaimed performers and seasoned local talent all for an affordable price,” Youngquist said.
DIVAS 3 — (Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023, at 7 p.m.) Straight from the Las Vegas Strip, Divas 3 features powerhouse voices singing the biggest hits of the greatest pop divas from four decades!
Charlie Albright — (Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023, at 7 p.m.) Pianist Charlie Albright has been praised for his jaw-dropping technique and virtuosity. He is among the most gifted musicians of his generation.
Wartburg Choir — (Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024, at 3:30 p.m.) The internationally acclaimed Wartburg Choir, from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, is directed by Lee Nelson and performs sacred music from all historical periods and styles.
SE Iowa Band — (Sunday, March 3, 2024, at 3:30 p.m.) This 50-piece ensemble, directed by Bob McConnell, is another Iowa-based group of entertainers who present classical, pops, show tunes, marches, and folk music in an entertaining fashion.
An Evening of IMPROV — (Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 7:00) Students and adults alike will enjoy the quick-witted comedy sketches performed by seasoned LOCAL comedians.
All events are held in Hanson Auditorium, Washington Area Performing Arts & Events Center at Washington High School, 1111, South Avenue B, Washington, IA 52353. Individual tickets are sold at the door or online at www.washingtonauditorium.org
Adult tickets are $20, College Students $10, K-12 Students are admitted for free.
