Fairfield High School teacher Scott Slechta inspects luggage while FHS student Tyler Breeding and his mother Rose Reynolds fill out luggage tags Sunday afternoon in the FHS Commons before the 117 students and 17 chaperones boarded three chartered buses bound for New York City. After a 21-hour drive, including two meal stops and two rest stops, the group arrived today. Tuesday highlights of the trip include the students performing at Cathedral of St. John the Divine, attending a workshop with Broadway performers and attending ?Mama Mia!? Wednesday?s highlights will include visiting the Statue of Liberty, attending an afternoon performance of ?Phantom of the Opera,? then loading the buses for the trip home. They are scheduled to arrive at FHS Thursday afternoon. The Fairfield Community School District is on spring break today through Friday. Classes resume March 28.
