Pickup strikes car in parking lot
A two-vehicle accident March 30 in the Mt. Pleasant Community High School parking lot resulted in damages of $2,000 to the vehicles.
According to the Mt. Pleasant Police Department, a 2005 Honda Accord, owned by Brent Venghaus, was legally parked in the student parking lot with no one inside.

A two-vehicle accident March 30 in the Mt. Pleasant Community High School parking lot resulted in damages of $2,000 to the vehicles.
According to the Mt. Pleasant Police Department, a 2005 Honda Accord, owned by Brent Venghaus, was legally parked in the student parking lot with no one inside.
A Mazda 2500 truck, owned by Sarah Cone, of Mt. Pleasant, and operated by Nekayl Hoffmeister, of Mt. Pleasant, was entering the student parking lot at a high rate of speed.
The Mazda truck slid around corners in the parking lot, which was wet. The Mazda made a sliding turn on the north side of the lot in a reckless manner with students walking in the area en route to class.
Losing control, the Mazda truck struck the parked Honda. There were no injuries.
Estimated damage to the Mazda was $500. Estimated damage to the Honda was $1,500.
The accident was caught on school video. Hoffmeister was charged with reckless driving.
