Piggies on the loose

AINSWORTH - A semi trailer hauling pigs crashed Tuesday morning, temporarily closing the southbound ramp on Highway 218 near Ainsworth.
According to a news release from the Washington County Sheriff's Office, a semi rolled onto its side on the southbound ramp of Highway 218 at milemarker 66 at approximately 11:19 a.m. The ramp was temporarily closed as crews worked to clear the scene.
The driver was not injured in the accident. However, the hogs the semi was carrying did escape and were running loose.
The cause of the accident has not been identified at this time.
Responding to the accident were the Washington County Sheriff's Office, Washington Rescue, Ainsworth Fire and the Iowa State Patrol.
