Plane makes emergency landing in northwest Washington County
Jun. 3, 2019 11:50 am
A single-engine plane made an emergency landing in a field in northwest Washington County on Saturday, June 1, after the motor failed.
According to the Washington County Communications report, a caller reported around 10:45 a.m. that a small, single-engine plane, described as a 'Piper” plane, went down after what sounded to the caller like engine failure.
Two Washington County sheriff's deputies arrived on scene and all other emergency units were disregarded. The pilot and passenger, whose names have yet to be released, were out of the plane with no injuries after a safe landing.
Washington County Sheriff Jared Schneider confirmed Monday morning the pilot was from Wayland and there was no damage to the plane or passengers. The communications report states water got into the fuel causing the motor to fail. Schneider said the problem was resolved on the field and the pilot was able to take off from the field and resume the flight.
