Poaching trial set for Friday morning
A Fairfield man accused of poaching deer will stand trial Friday morning in magistrate court.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources ticketed Jack Henry Schafer, 42, of 2349 Glasgow Road, for no habitat fee, no hunting license, no valid deer license and two counts of unlawful deer possession in December 2010.
Schafer is accused of unlawfully taking two whitetail antlerless deer, valued at $1,500 each.
