Fairfield Police Department investigated at 2:58 a.m. today and made two arrests. Debra Lea Cox, 32, of Sigourney, was arrested at 3:05 a.m. today at Ninth Street and Washington Avenue, charged with possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Darrell Dwayne Roberts Jr., 33, of Eldon or Floris, was arrested for driving while license revoked and for providing false identification to a peace officer.

Charles Cameron Crawford, 53, of 900 N. Eighth St., was arrested in the 300 block of West Adams Avenue at 9:36 p.m. Tuesday for an open container in a motor vehicle (driver).

11:16 a.m. report of an abandoned bicycle hidden in bushes for several days; impounded.

11:54 a.m. report of a dog left in a car, windows were down, still a warm day. Owner took dog home.

1:04 p.m. citation issued for speeding.

1:40 p.m. report of a pothole getting worse. Officer left voicemail with city shed.

6:16 p.m. investigate burglary. Report that someone broke into a storage unit, changed the lock and a toolbox and tools are missing. Unit renter last visited storage unit in fall 2012, returned Tuesday. Toolbox is a nearly 6-foot tall red Snap-On, three-stacker toolbox with a sticker of a 1956 Ford pickup truck. It contained various hand and air tools, either Snap-On or Mack brand, and some electrical meters used for automotive work. Most tools have initials HW chiseled into handles. Total value at $2,000.
