Fairfield Police Department reports the following calls received at dispatch:
From Friday through Monday, police issued 24 verbal traffic warnings; three citations; two written citations; and dispatch received 13 911 hang-ups/misdials.
Monday
7:27 a.m. caller reported car parked in driveway was struck overnight, sometime between 10 p.m. Sunday and 6 a.m. Monday, with major front-end damage to the parked car.
8:45 a.m. police served a warrant to Amber Carr for fourth-degree theft.
1:06 p.m. Tony?s Turbo Wash reported vandalism.
4:26 p.m. caller reported a computer scam, offering to sell him computer virus protection, but when he called the available phone number, no connection.
6:18 p.m. police served an arrest warrant to Jermaine Howard.
10:15 p.m. report of a possible scam on Facebook; caller was advised to report it to Facebook.
11:23 p.m. report of a van in the ditch on Highway 1 south; officer went to check on condition of occupants, van was unoccupied.
Friday
10:33 a.m. Fairfield Community School District bus garage reported a vehicle slowed as if to stop for a bus stop arm, then drove through.
10:44 a.m. caller reported his computer screen was blocked with a message it was from the FBI; then asked him for a payment to unlock the screen. He was advised it was a scam and not to send money.
3:16 p.m. caller reported a small, brown Jack Russell Terrier, wearing a collar, was missing.
5 p.m. caller reported someone burning leaves in the street. Officer advised the person Fairfield has a burn ordinance and March is not one of the months residents are allowed to burn leaves.
6:48 p.m. caller reported two boys trying to syphon gas from gas tanks at the country club.
10:14 p.m. caller reported slashed tires.
