The Fairfield Police Department responded to a vehicle accident at 3:41 a.m. May 10, near D Street on Adams Ave. Joshua Aaron Jerrel, 26, of Mount Pleasant, was traveling eastbound on Adams Avenue, driving a 2004 Passat Volkswagon owned by Terry and Kimberly Jerrel of Mount Pleasant, when he struck the rear of a legally parked Cadillac owned by Jason Brent Byers of 306 E. Adams Ave. The parked Cadillac swung around hitting a utility pole which pulled the electrical service from the residence at 307 E. Adams Ave. Jerrel was taken to the Jefferson County Health Center by ambulance. A citation is pending. Damages were estimated at $48.51 to the electrical service; $10.000 to the Volkswagon; $10,000 to the Cadillac; and $2,000 to the utility pole.
