The Fairfield Police Department investigated an accident at 11:58 a.m. Wednesday on East Broadway between Court and B streets. Gail Ann Crotta, 61, of 2377 175th St., backed out of a parking space driving a 2006 Toyota Highlander. Tere P. Cotter, 49, of 1525 Lone Oak Creek, also began backing out of a parking space driving a 2010 BMW 535, and swiped the Highlander from driver?s door to the back. Both drivers said they did not see one another. No injuries were reported. The Toyota has an estimated $2,000 in damages and the BMW, an estimated $1,500 in damages.

Donna Rae Corry of Birmingham was driving a 1997 Buick Skylark south in a public parking lot at Second Street and Briggs Avenue at 7:42 a.m. today when Olivia Marie Lopez of 1100 University Manor Dr., Apt 168, backed out of a parking spot, driving a 2002 Toyota Camry. The Toyota?s rear driver?s side collided with the passenger side?s front bumper of the Buick. Lopez said she did not see the other car. The Buick has an estimated $1,000 in damages, the Toyota an estimated $2,000.
