Fairfield Police Department investigated an accident at 12:02 p.m. Thursday at West Burlington Avenue and North 22nd Street. Helen Jean Nicholson, 76, of Brighton, was cited for failure to yield while turning left. She was driving a 1995 Chevy Lumina, turned left across the highway. Fairfield Police Department investigated an accident at 12:02 p.m. Thursday at West Burlington Avenue and North 22nd Street. Helen Jean Nicholson, 76, of Brighton, was cited for failure to yield while turning left. She was driving a 1995 Chevy Lumina, turned left across the highway. Louis Joseph Testa Jr. of Ottumwa, was driving a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer. Both drivers sustained minor injuries according to the police report. Nicholson?s Lumina has an estimated $15,000 in damages and Testa?s Trailblazer has an estimated $12,000 in damages. Damage to bushes owned by Paul Serkovish was estimated at $100. Police investigated a report of destruction, damage and vandalism of property and theft of motor vehicle parts or accessories at 9:06 p.m. Friday on West Burlington Avenue in front of Orschelens.
Anna Jane Shaner, 22, of 2167 Key Boulevard, was arrested at 2:36 a.m. Sunday at Hempstead Avenue and B Street for operating while intoxicated, first-offense.
