The Fairfield Police Department responded to an accident at 12:41 p.m. Wednesday on Burlington Ave. According to the accident report, a westbound 2004 Chevy Impala driven by Harold Kent White, 64, of Mount Pleasant was slowing to stop for traffic when it was rear-ended by a 2011 Nissan Murano driven by Charleen Nowak, 54, 1105 S. Second St. Estimated damages are $2,000 to White?s vehicle and $900 to Nowak?s vehicle.

Police responded to an accident at 2:32 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Burlington Avenue to Fourth Street. According to the accident report, an eastbound 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Caroline Anne Baker, 36, 901 W. Burlington Ave., failed to stop at a red light and collided with a northbound 2007 Toyota Yaris driven by Gillian Teresa Pierce, 64, 1106 S. Fifth St. No injuries were reported. Baker was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device and no proof of insurance. Estimated damages are $500 to Baker?s vehicle and $3,000 to Pierce?s vehicle.
