The Fairfield Police Department responded to an accident at 9:13 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of 23rd Street and Grimes Avenue. According to the accident report, a 2000 Dodge van driven by Bruce Steven Wilson, 2209 W. Burlington Ave., was eastbound when it turned right, ran over the curb and struck a utility pole. The Fairfield Police Department responded to an accident at 9:13 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of 23rd Street and Grimes Avenue. According to the accident report, a 2000 Dodge van driven by Bruce Steven Wilson, 2209 W. Burlington Ave., was eastbound when it turned right, ran over the curb and struck a utility pole. Wilson said he had been choking on coffee. He was transported to Jefferson County Health Center by ambulance. Wilson was cited for failure to maintain control. Estimated damages are $3,000 to the vehicle and $500 to the utility pole.
