Fairfield Police Department responded to an accident at 12:37 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Main Street and Grimes Avenue. Fairfield Police Department responded to an accident at 12:37 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Main Street and Grimes Avenue. Glenn Willard Guenther, 63, of 808 North B St., was driving a 2007 Mercedes ML320 north on Main Street. Suzanna Arass Vesely, 66, of 2000 N. Court St., No. 16E, was driving a 1996 Toyota Tercel east on Grimes Avenue. Vesely said she did not see a vehicle coming and did not stop at the yield sign, colliding with Guenther, who had no traffic sign. Estimated damage to each vehicle is $2,000; sign had $25 in damages. Vesely was cited for failure to yield right of way from a yield sign.
Police received a report at 11:38 a.m. Monday from Hideway Bar, 111½ N. Court St., that 15 garbage bags containing 120 beverage cans each, were stolen from a fenced area at the bar between 2 a.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday.
Police received a report at 8:03 a.m. Monday from Ideal Ready Mix, 2510 W. Grimes Ave., about a burglary. Between 4 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Monday, cash, a check and money bags were stolen from inside the business.
Police responded to an accident at 8:03 a.m. Thursday. Marsha Elkins, 42, of 1300 W. Jackson Ave., was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu east in the 600 block of West Adams Avenue. She said sun in her eyes caused her to fail to see a legally parked vehicle and she made contact. Estimated damage to her car was $1,000. Estimated damage to the parked car was $2,500.
