Suspicious activity
3:55 a.m. Wednesday: Citizen reported a car behind a residence; looks like someone was going through the dumpster.
3:15 p.m. Wednesday: Complaint about two males in bright blue pickup driving back and forth in front of residence; then parked in field across the street. Police checked the area.
5:22 p.m. Wednesday: Complaint about a male in a silver Impala sitting in parking lot for 45 minutes, never coming into store. He left for 5 minutes and returned.
2:15 a.m. Thursday: Citizen reported following a vehicle with five or six males inside who may have stolen items from a trailer on campus, they ran when citizen saw them. Officer stopped vehicle, everything was OK, no thefts.
Wildlife
7:45 a.m. Wednesday: Citizen reported a deer hit, bleeding from leg, not moving very fast. A second caller reported a deer with a badly injured leg in the same area. Police determined deer had a broken back leg but would not let officer close enough to shoot it. Officer followed deer until it ran into the woods in the county.
Motorist assist
8:43 a.m. Wednesday: Disabled vehicle, motorist said help was on the way. Motorist advised to call again if help did not arrive.
Funeral escort
8:47 a.m. Wednesday: Provide funeral escort from First United Methodist Church to Evergreen Cemetery.
Traffic violations
Verbal warnings ? Wednesday: 8:50 a.m., 9:24 a.m., 9:54 a.m., 12:28 p.m., 3:11 p.m. and 10:12 p.m. Thursday: 12:48 p.m., 7:23 p.m. and 7:40 p.m.
Citation ? Wednesday: 9:08 a.m., 9:24 a.m., 9:54 a.m. and 3:11 p.m. Thursday: 7:23 p.m.
Speeding citations ? Wednesday: 12:28 p.m. and 9:34 p.m. Thursday: 7:30 a.m.
Criminal mischief/vandalism
11:05 a.m. Wednesday: Citizen reported a vehicle had been keyed on the hood, driver?s side and passenger?s side doors. Citizen had text messages from person claiming responsibility. Police advised getting a repair estimate and took photos of text messages. Repairs estimated at $2,034. Lucy Marie Roe, 19 of Fairfield, was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal mischief.
3:30 p.m. Wednesday: Citizen reports problems with neighbors again; in past, neighbors have let air out of vehicle tires. Citizen asked for extra patrol in neighborhood.
5:06 p.m. Thursday: Resident reported house shot with a BB gun with damage to a window. A witness described vehicle where shot came from as an older model Chevrolett Silverado, single cab and short bed truck that sits low to the ground, black with silver on the bottom.
Lost and found
11:36 a.m. Wednesday: Citizen turned in a found Illinois driver?s license.
8:01 p.m. Wednesday: A bicycle on a trail east across lake from beach has been there for three days. Will pass along to day shift to pick up.
Parking complaint
12:17 p.m. Wednesday: Resident contacted police about a moped parked at the end of a dead-end street for three or four days. Moped owner contacted. Owner said moped is driven every day.
7:34 a.m. Thursday: Citizen contacted police about a Jetta with no license plates parked in a lot. Police contacted owner, advised moving car or it would be towed by school.
8:45 a.m. Thursday: Citizen contacted police about a silver sedan; police placed a sticker on vehicle window.
11:34 p.m. Thursday: Citizen called about a silver and white car partially blocking a driveway and there may be a party across the street in upstairs apartment.
Accidents
12:45 p.m. Wednesday: Kayla Eaton, 19, backing out of a spot at Kum and Go parking lot, collided with a vehicle driven by Sherri Jolene Ellis, 42, pulling into a spot. Minimal damage to both vehicles, drivers exchanged information.
10:03 a.m. Thursday: Sheila Diane Temple, 49, said she was parked next to vehicle driven by Bridgette Lane Grijalva, 49, when Grijalva began to back out. Grijalva said she had checked and no vehicles were to the side or behind her when she began backing out. Passenger side of Temple?s vehicle and driver?s side of Grijalva?s vehicle made contact. Drivers exchanged information.
3:01 p.m. Thursday: Sue Ellen Bartlett, 62, of Eldon driving a 2003 Buick Century was headed north on 23rd Street and stopped at the stop sign at West Burlington Avenue. Beverly Jean Dawson, 45 of 606 S. Seventh St., driving a 1999 Ford Explorer, was turning off Burlington Avenue, right, to drive south on 23rd Street, crossed the center line and collided head-on with Bartlett?s vehicle. Police report noted Dawson was driving too fast for road conditions of snowy, sleet mix. Dawson was cited for driving under suspension. The Buick had an estimated $1,300 in damages and the Ford had an estimated $1,200 in damages.
3:31 p.m. Thursday: Sandra Colleen Dimitt, 58, of 2289 Mint Bvd., driving a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling south on Fourth Street, approaching Kirkwood Avenue. Bruce Alan Hollander, 48, of 1606 Southview Circle, driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silvarado was stopped at the four-way intersection of Fourth and Kirkwood. Dimmitt was not able to stop and collided with the back of the truck. It was noted she was driving too fast for road conditions. No citations were issued. The Hyundai had an estimated $1,500 in damges, the truck, $200.
Theft
4:10 p.m. Wednesday: Citizen reported a specific person had used a child support card belonging to the caller while caller was incarcerated. Card was used for $10.74 and $21.94 on Feb. 8; for $7.52 on Feb. 15; and for $17.49 Sunday. Caller had received the card shortly before incarceration and let a specific person use the card once to buy food when caller was ill. So the person knew the card PIN number. Caller said the person had no right to use the card. Police will check with Child Support Recovery Unit for more information about the card. Caller called again and left a voicemail stating not wanting to press charges.
Harassment/threats
5:34 p.m. Thursday: Citizen contacted police about someone making threats to caller on Facebook, but did not send them to anyone. Caller wants to press charges. Police will contact county attorney about charges.
Trespassing
5:34 p.m. Wednesday: Citizen contacted police regarding trespassing. Requested extra patrol for train cars behind ATI.
Animals
8:58 a.m. Thursday: Citizen contacted police about signing for a dog.
Miscellaneous
8:08 p.m. Thursday: Citizen called police, would not inform dispatch of subject but wanted to speak with an officer. Caller told police her phone has been hacked for the last 12 years and asked if police knew. Caller advised to contact Lt. Smith in morning.
Livestock assistance
8:09 a.m. Thursday: Citizen contacted police about two horses out. Police officers rounded up horses and herded them back to the ranch.
