No parking means no stopping.
That?s what the Mt. Pleasant Police Department says regarding parents of middle school students who stop on Lincoln Street to drop off their children before or after school.
Both sides of Lincoln Street in the area of the middle school are designated as no parking. No parking includes stopping to drop off or pick up students even if you do not intend to leave your vehicle there, the police department says.
Stopping in this area causes vehicle congestion and safety concerns for your children, the department emphasized. The designated drop-off area for students is on the north side of the middle school.
To drop off students, parents should enter the middle school parking lot from Adams Street and exit onto Lincoln Street. The police department said it would continue to monitor the Lincoln Street area for violations of the no-parking area.
