Police dog dies with deputy at his side

The Washington County Sheriff's Office K9 Vasco died due to cancer.
He died Wednesday afternoon while with his handler Deputy Nolan Burke and family.
Vasco was born Sept. 5, 2014 in Poland, according to a press release. He completed his training with Burke and has been a Washington County K9 since June 1, 2015.
He was recently diagnosed with cancer.
'He will be missed, and we thank him for his selfless service his entire career,” according to the release.
Vasco was active for several years helping the Sheriff's Office detect drugs, track missing or wanted individuals, protecting his partner and other members of the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
