Fire calls
Jefferson County reported a field CRP fire, Wednesday night at Spruce Avenue in Brighton. There were no structures in the area. The fire was not being monitored at that time. Brighton QRS and Brighton Fire responded. The fire was extinguished.
Assault
A caller Wednesday night at Seventh Avenue in Wellman reported that a subject walked up to her and assaulted her. Two officers responded and spoke to all parties involved. The incident is under investigation.
Disorderly conduct
A caller Wednesday afternoon at West Main Street in Washington reported that a male and a female were arguing in front of the courthouse. Then they were in a white SUV with a trailer attached, and it appeared that the dispute was getting physical. An officer spoke with both subjects. It was verbal only.

A caller Wednesday night at East Seventh Street in Washington reported loud music. An officer responded and spoke to the subject. She turned the music off for the night.
Family offense nonviolent
A caller Wednesday morning at South Third Avenue in Washington reported that two subjects were arguing at the residence. An officer responded and got the subjects calmed down.
Fraud
A caller Wednesday morning at South Iowa Avenue in Washington reported being scammed out of $4,500. Money had been transferred, and the bank was unable to stop it. An officer responded. The incident was documented.
Intimidation/harassment
A caller Wednesday afternoon at South Seventh Avenue in Washington reported that a girlfriend was being harassed by individuals at Walmart. An officer responded. The report is under investigation.
Runaways/missing person
A caller Wednesday morning at North Benton Street and East Washington Street in Brighton reported a 3-year-old female, with no shirt and no socks on, was looking for her mother. She would not tell the caller her mother's name. The caller requested a deputy. An officer and DHS responded. The child was returned to her mother.
Suspicious activity
A caller Wednesday morning at 320th Street in Washington reported a suspicious light tan van parked at the end of the lane. The caller called back to advise that they were waiting for a planting crew and had pulled into the wrong drive.
Trespass
A caller Wednesday morning at North Sixth Avenue in Washington reported subjects who were knocking on his door and refusing to leave. An officer responded. Subjects left, and no further issues were anticipated.
Truancy
A caller Wednesday morning at South Fourth Avenue in Washington reported that two students who were on school grounds before school started had never come inside when school was in session. They were last seen near the KFC restaurant. The caller requested that officers attempt to locate the students and return them to school. The parents had been notified. Officers were advised. Documentation was made. About one hour later, an officer advised that the students had been accounted for.
Welfare check
A caller Wednesday night at East Second Street in Washington requested a welfare check on a subject who walked out of the residence earlier. An officer responded and spoke with the subject, who said she was OK and would return home later.

A caller Wednesday morning at South Fourth Avenue in Washington requested an officer for a subject at school acting suspicious. An officer responded. The subject was turned over to his mother. Juvenile Probation was notified.
