Arrests
A subject was reported in the jail turning herself in on a warrant, Wednesday morning at Lexington Boulevard in Washington. An officer responded and arrested Frankie Melissa Fulford, 43, of New London, on a Washington County warrant for OWI first offense, possession of controlled substance – methamphetamine first offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was $2,300 cash only. The warrant was cleared from the system.
An officer reported locating a wanted subject from Washington County, Wednesday evening at South Stone in Sigourney. Teresa Marie Moore, 29, of Keota, was arrested on a Washington County warrant for possession of contraband in correctional institution and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was $5,900 cash only. An officer responded to 190th Street and Highway 1 and transported the subject to the Washington County Jail. The officer also served the warrant.
Marion Police Department reported locating a subject on a Washington County warrant, Thursday morning at Highway 151 in Marion. Michael Jason Cinkan, 31, of Cedar Rapids, was arrested on a Washington County warrant for failure to appear for arraignment on original charge of fourth-degree theft. Bond was $1,000 cash only; pickup/100-mile radius. The subject was detained at the Linn County Jail. Extradition arrangements will be made.
Traffic accident
A caller Wednesday morning at Highway 1 in Kalona reported a two-vehicle accident with no injuries in front of N & N Sanitation in Kalona. An officer responded. Vehicle operators were Douglas Darrow, of Oxford, and Anna Eicher, of Kalona. A state accident report will be filed.
Animal complaint
A caller Wednesday morning at Highway 22 in Riverside reported a deer that had been hit and needed to be put down. An officer responded and made the deer final. The subject who hit the deer called in to report damage to the front passenger fender and door.
A caller Wednesday night at Juniper Avenue and Highway 22 in Kalona reported a black horse in the roadway. An officer responded and checked the area, and was unable to locate the horse.
A caller early Thursday morning at West Main Street in Washington reported a bat in the bathroom. An officer responded and assisted.
Civil standby
A caller Wednesday night at Prospect Place in Washington requested a civil standby. The civil standby was conducted. Items were retrieved without incident.
Disorderly conduct
A caller Wednesday morning at West Washington Street in Washington reported a fight that occurred outside the library at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday. An officer responded. Two juveniles were banned from the library for two months. The officer also spoke with the juveniles' guardians.
DP & Q
A caller Wednesday night at East Madison Street in Washington reported that her neighbors were being loud. City units responded. They were advised of the complaint and said they would keep it down.
Family offense nonviolent
A caller Wednesday afternoon at East 13th Street in Washington reported needing assistance from an officer with her 5-year-old child. An officer spoke with the caller. She was going to speak with the father and come up with a solution.
Fraud
A caller Wednesday morning at East Washington Street in Brighton reported that a customer received a fraudulent cashier's check for a vehicle sale. An officer responded. The vehicle was a 2015 gray two-door Ford Mustang. License plates had been removed. The vehicle was entered into the system as stolen.
Intimidation/harassment
A caller Wednesday morning at First Street in Kalona reported being threatened by a customer. An officer responded. Documentation was made.
Vandalism
A caller Wednesday night at 335th Street in Brighton reported that someone drove through his yard and damaged a couple of trees and a trellis. Documentation was made.
