Arrests
Offers were reported out with a subject on a Washington County warrant, Monday morning at West Second Street in Ottumwa. Blayze Allen Muntz, 18, of Sigourney, was arrested on Washington County warrants for operating vehicle without owner's consent, fifth-degree theft, and fifth-degree criminal mischief. Total bond was $2,600 cash only.
A caller reported having a valid warrant for a subject in the Washington County Jail, Monday afternoon at Lexington Boulevard in Washington. Brandon Dean Eckrich, 37, of Victor, was wanted by North Liberty Police Department on a charge of forgery. Bond was $5,000. A hold was placed for Johnson County.
Traffic accident
A caller Monday afternoon at Highway 92 in Ainsworth reported being struck by a vehicle across from the Ainsworth Four Corners. No one was trapped, but one subject was complaining of shoulder pain. An ambulance, Ainsworth QRS, Ainsworth Fire, a Washington County Rescue unit, two officers and Ron's Towing responded. Vehicle operators were Amy Hagmeier, of Winfield, and Emily Wade, of Kalona. The Rescue unit and the ambulance were disregarded. A state accident report will be filed. A citation was issued to Hagmeier for failure to yield upon entering a through highway.
A caller Monday afternoon at Highway 92 in Washington reported that their vehicle was hit in the Walmart parking lot by an unknown vehicle. An officer responded and checked the store's footage. The vehicle was damaged before the subject went to Walmart. Documentation was made.
Traffic stop serious
An officer reported being on a vehicle stop, Monday morning at West Main Street in Washington. A citation was issued to Zachary Martin Tripplett, of Washington, for driving under suspension.
Traffic other
A caller Monday morning at Louisa Washington Road and Highway 92 in Ainsworth reported being stuck on the road. The subject was given the number for County Roads.
A caller Monday morning at South Second Avenue in Washington reported a vehicle that had been parked partially in front of his driveway for the past week. An officer responded and spoke with the registered owner, and the vehicle was moved.
An officer reported being out with an improperly parked vehicle, Monday afternoon at East Second Street in Washington. Twenty-four-hour tow tags were placed on the vehicle.
Disabled vehicles
A deputy reported being out with a disabled vehicle, Monday night at 290th Street and Highway 1 in Washington. The vehicle was taped and added to the system.
Fire calls
A caller Monday afternoon at Highway 22 in Riverside reported the smell of smoke coming from the kitchen area. There were no visible flames. Riverside Fire requested mutual aid from Kalona and Ainsworth Fire. Riverside Fire, Riverside QRS and an ambulance also responded. Riverside disregarded Ainsworth Fire and Kalona Fire. Alliant was notified. Smoke was coming from the water heater. They were advised to contact an HVAC company.
Multiple callers reported a house at the corner of South Avenue D and West Madison Street in Washington had flames showing inside the residence, Monday night. The callers were unsure if anyone was inside at that time. Two officers, an ambulance, Washington Fire Department, Ainsworth Fire Department, Department of Transportation, and Alliant Energy responded. Washington Fire Chief will be in contact with the state fire marshal's office. The fire was extinguished. An officer reported several hours later, at 4:38 a.m. on Tuesday, that the house had visible flames. An additional officer, Washington Fire and two ambulances responded.
Civil dispute
A caller Monday morning at South Avenue C in Washington reported that his ex-girlfriend messaged him and said she was throwing his clothes and belongings out into the street. The caller requested an officer. An officer responded. There were no personal items outside. The officer spoke with the female subject, who was advised not to damage or set anything outside.
Disorderly conduct
A caller Monday afternoon at Vine Avenue in Riverside requested assistance with a student who had been suspended from school and was refusing to leave with their parent. An officer responded. The juvenile left with his father.
A caller Monday night at Highway 92 in West Chester reported that their nephew was out of control. Two officers responded. The situation resolved itself.
A caller Monday night at East Polk Street in Washington requested assistance with a resident who was making threats to harm others. Two officers responded. The situation was resolved before the officers' arrival.
Hang-up 911 calls
Dispatch received a 911 call from a male who said he was at the casino, Tuesday morning at Highway 22 in Riverside. The caller was arguing with someone and then hung up. Three officers responded. Two subjects were in an argument with Security about an identification issue. The casino confiscated the ID, and both males left the casino.
Intimidation/harassment
A caller Monday night at South Third Avenue in Washington reported receiving threatening messages. An officer responded and spoke to all parties involved. Documentation was made.
Suspicious activity
A caller Monday morning at Highway 218 and East Columbus Street in Crawfordsville reported suspicious activity. An officer spoke with the caller and checked the area. Everything was fine. The subject was just participating in a digital game.
Trespass
A caller Monday night at Cedar Street in West Chester reported a suspicious vehicle parked behind the elevator. Several occupants got out and might have broken into a building nearby. An officer located the vehicle at the North Junction. Two additional officers also responded. The owner did not want to press charges. One juvenile was cited for possession of tobacco by a minor, first offense.
Welfare check
A caller Monday evening at West Tyler Street in Washington reported possible animal abuse. An officer responded. The dog was healthy and did not show any signs of abuse. Documentation was made.
A caller Monday night at South Iowa Avenue in Washington requested a welfare check. An officer responded and was advised that the subject was in Iowa City. The subject's father was going to try to get hold of her.
All other theft
A caller Monday night at South Ninth Avenue in Washington reported a theft by a juvenile subject. An officer responded and transported the subject to Four Oaks in Iowa City. A report will be filed.

A call Monday morning at West Second Street in Washington was an error in record.
