Arrests
An officer reported that he was at the jail with a wanted subject, Monday night at Lexington Boulevard in Washington. Russell Jay Clark, 41, of Brighton, was arrested on a charge of failure to appear in reference to original charge of driving while license denied, suspended, canceled or revoked. Bond was $300 cash only.
An officer was reported being out with a subject wanted through Washington County, Monday night at Melrose Avenue in Iowa City. An officer transported the subject to the Washington County Jail in Washington. Neema Lumona, 28, of Iowa City, was arrested on a Washington County warrant for failure to appear for initial appearance on driving while license under suspension. Bond was $300 cash only. The warrant was cleared from the system.
An officer reported being at a vehicle stop, early Tuesday morning at West Madison Street in Washington. Two additional officers also responded. Darinel Lopez, 32, of Washington, was arrested on charges of OWI first offense, no valid driver's license, and lights of improper color front/rear.
Traffic accident
A caller Monday night at Coppock Road in Washington reported a car-vs.-deer accident. The vehicle was drivable, but there were two deer that were injured. An officer responded and made the deer final. Documentation was made.
Animal complaint
A caller Monday morning at North 12th Avenue in Washington reported a raccoon in the field, and was unsure if it was possibly sick. An officer responded, and the animal was disposed of.
A caller Monday afternoon at Second Street in Richland reported that there were horses at a residence in Rubio that were tied to a tree and unable to get to the barn. They were standing in filth, eating bark from trees, and appeared not to have any water. They had been tied up for an unknown amount of time but seemed to be tied up every day. The horses were brown and dark brown in color. An officer responded. The horses had water, and it was not illegal to have them tied to trees.
A caller Monday afternoon at East Eighth Street and North Iowa Avenue in Washington reported finding two dogs running loose. An officer spoke with the owner, who was given a verbal warning.
Assault
A caller Monday morning at East Polk Street in Washington requested an officer to remove a juvenile who was being abusive to her mother. She was refusing to leave the office. Two officers responded. The juvenile was transported to the Police Department. An officer transported the juvenile to Four Oaks. No charges were filed.
Family offense nonviolent
A caller Friday morning at Fairview Drive in Wellman reported violation of a no-contact order. A report will be filed.
A caller Friday afternoon at North Second Avenue in Washington reported that her mother was locked outside of the residence after a confrontation with her sister. A juvenile female was taken by an officer to Washington County Hospital emergency room in Washington.
A caller Sunday night at 11th Street in Wellman reported a possible violation of a no-contact order. An officer contacted the caller. The caller was going to make contact with an attorney but would like documentation.
A caller was intoxicated, Monday night at South Farmer Street in Brighton, and was complaining of an issue with her husband. An officer responded and spoke with the husband, who was leaving the house. He advised that she calmed down and went to bed. No further problems were anticipated.
Intimidation/harassment
A caller Monday night at Walnut Avenue in Riverside reported that she was still being harassed from her father and wanted to speak with a deputy about pursuing charges. An officer spoke with the caller. The victim was refusing to cooperate. Documentation was made.
Welfare check
An officer reported being out at a residence checking on a subject, Saturday afternoon at North Avenue B in Washinton. Contact was made, and there was no problem. A key was returned.
A caller Monday afternoon at Peaceful Drive in Riverside reported responding for a welfare check. An officer responded and spoke with the family. Everything was OK.

A caller Saturday morning at North Fourth Avenue in Washington reported that subjects were in his truck and garage last night between 1 and 6 a.m. An officer was advised. Documentation was made.
A caller Saturday morning at East 12th Street in Washington reported that someone was inside her vehicle and her garage and her guest's vehicle last night. An officer was advised. The information was documented.
An officer reported a subject at the Police Department reporting a theft, Saturday morning at North Seventh Avenue in Washington. A caller Friday morning at First Street in Kalona reported than an employee called in and was irate and said he was on his way to the business. The caller was afraid of what might happen if he showed up, and requested a deputy. An officer responded to the business and was going to attempt to locate the other person.

A caller Saturday morning at North Sixth Avenue and East Sixth Street in Washington reported receiving three hang-up 911 calls from a cellphone that was no longer in service. An officer checked the area and made contact with a subject who advised that they were fine.

A caller Friday night at South Avenue B in Washington reported receiving harassing text messages. An officer responded and spoke with everyone involved. The subjects were to cease contact with the caller.
A caller Saturday night at Walnut Avenue in Riverside reported receiving harassing phone calls from her father. An officer contacted the caller and advised her to obtain a no-contact order or change her phone number.
Public service contacts
A caller Friday night at Highway 218 and 192nd Street in Ainsworth reported that a customer on Highway 218 southbound near Exit 70 had a flat tire on her Chevrolet van. Her phone was dead. The caller requested a deputy to assist with a phone call. An officer gave the subject a ride home, and Moore's towed her vehicle.
Runaways/missing person
A caller Saturday morning at North Avenue B in Washington reported that his father-in-law had a medical condition and left the residence sometime that morning on foot. Dispatch received a call that the male showed up at a residence. The original caller was advised, and an officer responded. The subject was returned to his residence.
Shoplifting
A caller early Monday morning at Highway 92 in Washington reported two shoplifters from 20 minutes earlier, at 1:30 a.m. The shoplifters were a black male and a white female, and they took a couple of bottles of liquor. An officer responded. Documentation was made for the time.
Suspicious activity
A caller Sunday night at 320th Street in Wayland reported a suspicious male at a residence, with a flashlight. It was unknown if he was trying to break into the residence. Two officers responded. This was a family member, and everything was fine.
Vandalism
A caller Saturday morning at Fifth Street in Wellman reported vandalism to her vehicle that occurred sometime the previous night. There had been an attempt to scrape off the license plate sticker, and the trunk was keyed. The caller knew of no suspects. An officer responded. Documentation was made.
