Traffic accident
A caller Friday morning at East 15th Street and North Third Avenue in Washington reported that overnight his car was hit, with damage to the mirror. Documentation was made for insurance purposes.
A caller Friday afternoon at North Iowa Avenue and East Seventh Street in Washington reported a traffic accident with no injuries. An officer responded. Vehicle operators were Matthew David Kuntz, and Pascual Mendoza. Damages amounted to less than $1,500. No citations were issued. The accident was documented.
A caller Friday night at Ginkgo Avenue in Wellman reported coming upon a deer accident, and requested assistance. An officer responded. The vehicle was going to remain at the location overnight off the roadway. The subject was given a state report form, and the deer was final. The vehicle operator was Hannah Malloy, of Williamsburg.
A caller Friday night at East Third Street and North 12th Avenue in Washington reported a two-vehicle accident with injuries. One car was still in the roadway. Five Washington County officers, an ambulance, an Iowa State Patrol officer, a Washington County Rescue unit and Washington Fire Department all responded. Moore's responded to tow a vehicle. State Patrol is handling the state accident report. The ambulance transported one patient to Washington County Hospital, arriving there at 10:49 p.m.
Traffic stop serious
An officer reported a vehicle stop, Friday morning at Highway 92 in Ainsworth. A citation was issued to Damond Robert Coghill-Behrends, 21, of Iowa City, for driving under suspension third offense.
Traffic other
A caller Friday morning at South Avenue D in Washington reported a large red truck that had been parked for a week without being moved. An officer checked the area and was unable to locate the vehicle.
A caller Friday afternoon at Highway 92 in Washington reported a red pickup in the middle of the lane, not moving. An officer responded. The vehicle was removed from the roadway.
Disabled vehicles
An officer reported an unoccupied black motorcycle on Highway 1 and 78 west of Ginkgo in Brighton, Friday afternoon. There were no license plates and no seat on the motorcycle. It was added to the system.
A deputy reported being out with an unoccupied disabled vehicle, Friday night at 220th Street and Riverside Road in Washington. It was added to the system.
An officer reported being out with a disabled vehicle, early Saturday morning at Highway 78 and Ivy Avenue in Brighton. The vehicle was going to be towed in the next couple of hours.
Animal complaint
A caller Friday morning at Dogwood Avenue in Keota reported cows and calves out on the roadway. Two officers checked the area from 155th to 190th and were unable to locate any cows in the roadway.
A caller Friday morning at Highway 1 and 180th Street in Washington reported a sow out in the roadway. An officer checked the area and was unable to locate the animal.
A caller Friday afternoon at Highway 22 in Riverside reported dogs left in a car in the parking lot. The dogs were panting. Security was not able to locate the owners. An officer responded and assisted with getting the dogs out of the vehicle until the owner was located. A subject was advised on how to treat his animals.
A caller Friday afternoon at West Madison Street in Washington reported a cat bite. An officer responded. The information was documented.
Assault
A caller Friday afternoon at North Marion Avenue in Washington reported that she was assaulted by her father. She had injuries but refused medical treatment. The male subject left the residence in a white pickup. An officer responded. There were conflicting stories, and no charges. The incident was documented.
Burglary
A caller Friday night at South Fourth Avenue in Washington reported that the concession stand was burglarized and damaged. An officer responded. A report will be filed.
Disorderly conduct
Family members reported trying to get an uncooperative subject into a vehicle, Friday night at North Marion Avenue in Washington. An officer responded and was advised to disregard. The subject got into the vehicle to go and stay with family for the evening. A second call was made nearly an hour later, for assistance from officers and an ambulance. Two officers and an ambulance all responded. The subject went to the hospital by private vehicle. The ambulance was advised to disregard.
Hang-up 911 calls
A hang-up 911 call was reported, early Saturday morning at East Third Street in Washington. Three officers responded. An ambulance was requested for a female subject who was having stomach pains. An ambulance responded and transported the subject to the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, arriving at 5:16 a.m.
Physical child abuse
A caller Friday night at South Seventh Avenue in Washington reported possible physical child abuse. An officer responded for a welfare check.
Runaways/missing person
A caller Friday night at East Second Street in Washington reported that her 14-year-old son had run away on his bike. He had last been seen wearing a blue hoodie, camouflage shorts, and white-and-black-checked shoes. An officer responded. The subject returned home while the officer was speaking with the caller.
Sexual child abuse
A caller Friday evening at Brighton reported that their child was assaulted. An officer responded. A report will be filed.
A caller Friday afternoon at Lexington Boulevard in Washington reported a subject in the lobby reporting possible child sexual abuse. Documentation was made, and the information will be forwarded to the appropriate department.
Suspicious activity
A caller Friday night at Fern Cliff Road in Wayland reported that subjects on four-wheelers were tearing around in the lower part of the Fern Cliff Park. An officer responded and was unable to locate the vehicles.
A caller early Saturday morning at 115th Street in Riverside reported a suspicious van parking in the driveway of a vacant house. An officer responded. The subject used to live there and had her belongings outside of the residence. A friend of hers was going to be coming to the residence to pick her up.
Welfare check
A caller Friday night at E avenue in Kalona requested an officer to check on a child who came into the business. An officer responded and transported the juvenile to his guardian.
A caller Friday night at West Second Street requested a welfare check on a subject with his head bleeding from a large cut. He was last seen walking east from Wine and Spirits. Three officers responded. The person was located and picked up by a family member.
A caller early Saturday morning at Lincoln Street in Ainsworth requested a welfare check. An officer responded and was unable to locate the subject.
All other offenses
A caller Friday morning at 105th Street in Kalona reported a subject in the business who was acting strange and making strange comments. Two officers responded. The subject left before the officers' arrival. They were unable to locate the subject. An officer later located the subject and made contact with him.
