Arrests
A caller Saturday night at Green Meadows Drive in Washington reported that her brother was out of control and fighting with her father. Four officers responded. An officer transported a subject to Washington County Hospital in Washington. Owen Wallace Lillie, 23, of Washington, was arrested for domestic abuse assault.
A caller Saturday night at First Street Southwest in Cedar Rapids reported locating a wanted subject from Washington County. Brenda Marcela Rodriguez Carrillo, 25, of Cedar Rapids, was arrested on a Washington County warrant for possession of controlled substance -- marijuana, first offense. Bond was $500 cash only. A detainer was placed with Linn County Jail, and extradition arrangements will be made.
A caller early Sunday morning at East Seventh Street in Washington reported that three subjects were outside in an altercation. It was unknown if it was physical. City units and a Washington County officer responded. Jerica Cody Miller, 35, of Washington, was arrested on a charge of OWI, first offense.
Traffic accident
A caller Saturday morning at 210th Street in Washington reported seeing a single-engine plane, small like a 'Piper” plane, go down after what sounded as if the engine had died. The location was about 1 to 1 ½ miles northwest of the caller's location. The plane had disappeared behind the hill and had not come up. Two officers responded. All other emergency units were disregarded before they arrived and before contact was made with an ambulance. The pilot and the passenger were out of the plane with no injuries. It was a safe landing. Water had gotten into the fuel, causing motor failure. The problem was resolved, and assistance was given to the pilot with removing and flying the plane out of the field. The land owner was advised.
A caller Saturday evening at 480th Street Southwest in Wellman requested Wellman QRS and Fire for an SUV rollover which had occurred in Johnson County. The vehicle had rolled three or four times. Wellman QRS and Fire were paged and then disregarded. The vehicle left the scene of the accident.
A caller Saturday night at Fir Avenue and Highway 78 in Brighton reported that their grandmother hit a deer with a vehicle. There were no injuries, and the vehicle was drivable. An officer responded and provided the caller with a state accident report. Documentation was made.
A caller Saturday night at Airport Road and 275th Street in Washington reported hitting a deer on 275th Street by Lake Trio. He had minimal front-end damage. The vehicle was drivable, and the deer ran off in the dark. An officer was advised for documentation.
Dispatch received a report of a disabled 2016 Malibu following a deer accident north of Highland School., Saturday night at Highway 218 and 170th Street in Riverside. An officer responded. The vehicle operator was Bailey Starbuck, of Mt. Pleasant. Moore's was contacted to tow the vehicle, and then was disregarded. They were able to drive the vehicle home.
Traffic stop serious
A deputy reported being at a vehicle stop, Saturday night at Kiwi Avenue and 315th Street in Washington. Kyle Eugene Sobaski, 25, of Fairfield, was cited for driving while license suspended. A valid operator responded to the scene for the operator and the vehicle.
Animal complaint
Riverside Casino security reported that a pitbull had been inside a Hyundai Santa Fe in the parking lot, Saturday afternoon at Highway 22 in Riverside. The vehicle was unlocked, and the dog was given fresh water due to the heat. It was unknown how long the dog had been inside. Veronica Collins, 35, of West Liberty, was cited with animal neglect. A report will be filed.
Barking dog
A caller Saturday morning at North Avenue C in Washington reported a dog barking inside the residence across the street. No one was living in the residence. An officer responded and made contact with the owner, who had been coming to the residence every two to three days to take care of the dog.
A caller early Sunday morning at North Fifth Avenue in Washington reported a barking dog. An officer responded but was diverted to an emergency call before he made contact with the dog owner.
Disorderly conduct
A caller Saturday afternoon at West Madison Street in Washington requested assistance with juveniles who were threatening each other. Two officers responded. The juveniles separated and left. They were advised that they could not return until Monday.
A caller Saturday night at East Monroe Street in Washington reported a male and a female arguing on their front porch. Three officers responded. The argument was verbal only, and both parties were going to remain at the residence. The caller later called back to advise that the two parties were fighting again. An officer responded. The dispute was between the male and a different party.
Drug/narcotics violation
An officer reported being at a vehicle stop, Saturday night at Lake Darling Road in Brighton. An additional officer also responded. Charges are pending per DCI Lab results on a juvenile subject.
An officer reported being out with three vehicles, early Sunday morning at 160th Street in Wellman. Three additional officers also responded. One juvenile will be charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Family offense nonviolent
An officer reported being out at the Wagon Wheel with two subjects in a domestic situation, early Sunday morning at East Seventh Street in Washington. The dispute was verbal only. The two subjects separated.
Runaways/missing person
A caller Saturday night at Ridgeview Court in Washington reported that her 4-year-old daughter was missing and was last seen wearing pajamas. Officers were advised and then disregarded. The mother located the daughter inside the residence.
Sexual assault
A caller Sunday morning at Lexington Boulevard in Washington reported sexual assault. The suspect was outside the residence, and the victim had the door locked. Three officers responded.
Trespass
A caller Saturday afternoon at 115th Street in Riverside reported subjects at the property who had been evicted. An officer responded. The subjects were not the previous residents. The report was unfounded.
Vandalism
A caller early Sunday morning at Dogwood Avenue in Brighton reported that someone spray-painted the bathroom at McCain Access. The report was documented.
Welfare check
A caller early Sunday morning at E Avenue in Kalona reported a subject walking in the roadway on E Avenue in Kalona. An officer checked the area and was unable to locate the subject.
All other offenses
An officer reported being at the Wagon Wheel with two subjects, early Sunday morning at East Seventh Street in Washington. Everything was fine.
