Traffic accident
Oct. 8 – 9:20 p.m., A motorist in the 1100 block of Kodi Circle in Fairfield was given a verbal warning for a broken headlight.
Oct. 9 – 6:28 a.m., Motor vehicle-related injuries were reported in the 600 block of East Mapleleaf Drive in Mt. Pleasant. Responding to the scene were the Mt. Pleasant Police Department, Henry County Health Center and Mt. Pleasant Fire and Rescue.
Oct. 9 – 11:03 a.m., Property damage stemming from a motor vehicle accident was reported in the 700 block of North Grand Avenue in Mt. Pleasant.
Oct. 9 – 11:50 a.m., Property damage from a motor vehicle accident occurred in the 100 block of North Jefferson Street in Mt. Pleasant.
Oct. 9 – 1:18 p.m., Two-vehicle traffic accident reported between a Ford F-250 and a semi-tractor in the 1700 block of East Washington Street. Subjects exchanged information.
Oct. 9 – 3:44 p.m., Caller in the 600 block of East Jefferson Street in Washington reports a white vehicle hit a pole in their back alley and left the area. KCTC was notified of the damage. The vehicle could not be located.
Oct. 9 – 4:51 p.m., Two-vehicle accident reported in the 500 block of Highway 1 in Washington involving Carolyn Steele, Crawfordsville, and Ramon Ponce Bueno, of Washington. Steele was given a written warning for failure to yield upon entering a through highway.
Arrests
Oct. 8 – 2:05 p.m., Brock Lawrence Wierck, 36, of Pleasant Plain, was arrested in the 600 block of West Depot Avenue in Fairfield and charged with fifth degree theft.
Oct. 9 – 6:28 p.m., Diane Birchfield, 60, was arrested in Fairfield for failure to appear, operating a vehicle without the owner's consent, and possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine first offense.
Oct. 9 – 8:33 p.m., Shannon Johnson, 42, was arrested in Fairfield for failure to appear and possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine first offense.
Citations
Oct. 9 – 3:03 p.m., Nathan Allen Littrell, 33, of Fairfield, was cited for expired registration.
Oct. 9 – 4:23 p.m., Robert Wayne Milford, Ottumwa, was cited for failure to yield after being stopped at the intersection of Spruce Avenue and Highway 92 in Washington County. Charges are pending for possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine third offense, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while intoxicated.
Assault
Oct. 9 – 8:24 a.m., An assault was reported in the 2100 block of South Grand Avenue in Mt. Pleasant.
Oct. 9 – 7:43 a.m., Caller in the 300 block of West 18th Street in Washington reports her 12-year-old and 14-year-old sons attacked her in her apartment. Law enforcement responded. No charges filed.
Oct. 9 – 7:46 p.m., A caller in the 300 block of West Madison Street in Washington reports being assaulted. Officers responded but were unable to locate the suspect.
Fraud
Oct. 9 – 12:50 p.m., Fraud reported in the 100 block of Wilson Boulevard in Fairfield.
Burglary
Oct. 9 – 12:30 p.m., Burglary reported in the 500 block of South Sixth Street in Fairfield.
Theft
Oct. 9 – 3:39 p.m., Theft/larceny/shoplifting was reported in the 1200 block of North Palm Avenue in Mt. Pleasant.
Oct. 9 – 6:29 p.m., Theft/larceny/shoplifting was reported in the 400 block of North Adams Street in Mt. Pleasant.
Missing person
Oct. 9 – 7:19 a.m., Washington County Sheriff's Office informs other law enforcement agencies of a runaway.
Oct. 9 – 9:25 p.m., A missing person/runaway was reported in the 700 block of East Madison Street in Mt. Pleasant.
Oct. 9 – 6:10 a.m., Caller in Richland reported her two juvenile daughters have run away to an unknown location. The juveniles were later found in Jefferson County and cleared from the system.
Oct. 9 – 11:13 a.m., Caller in Crawfordsville reports a student is running away from the school after being non-compliant, and that a staff member is following them. When authorities responded, the student was back in the custody of the school.
Animal complaints
Oct. 9 – 2:24 p.m., Caller in the 1600 block of North Fifth Avenue in Washington reports being attacked by a dog resulting in scratches. The owner was given a written warning for having a dog at large.
Fire
Oct. 9 – 4:36 p.m., Olds Fire Department and the Henry County Sheriff's Office responded to a fire call in the 100 block of West Third Avenue in Olds.
Oct. 9 – 3:57 p.m., Caller in the 1000 block of Locust Avenue in Kalona reports a baler on fire in a corn field. Kalona Fire and QRS responded and put out the fire.
