Louisa County reported being out with a subject out of Washington County, Wednesday evening at County Road G56 in Wapello. Jennifer Lynn Flores, 41, of West Branch, was arrested on a Washington County warrant for failure to appear for mittimus on original charge of possession of methamphetamine first offense and OWI first offense. There was no bond. The subject must serve one day, 6 hours and 33 minutes, or provide certificate of completion of the 48-hour OWI program. A Washington County officer met a Louisa County officer in Ainsworth and transported the subject to the Washington County Jail. The warrant was cleared from the system.
A caller requested an officer for a shoplifter, Wednesday night at Highway 92 in Washington. Daniel Orville Riness, 40, of Washington, was arrested on a charge of fifth-degree theft.
An officer reported being out with two wanted subjects, Thursday afternoon at South Avenue B and West Van Buren Street in Washington. Nicholas James Wayne, 27, homeless, was arrested on a Washington County warrant for possession of controlled substance – marijuana first offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was $800 cash only. Further charges are pending for possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Lana-Rae Lynn Meserole, 22, homeless, was arrested at the same time and location on a Washington County warrant for violation of probation. Bond was $2,000 cash only.
Traffic accident
A deputy reported being out with a vehicle that hit a deer, Wednesday night at Vine Avenue in Riverside. The vehicle was drivable, and the subject drove home.
Traffic other
A caller Wednesday afternoon at West Third Street in Washington reported a van that had been parked in a lot for three to four days that the owner was to have removed. The vehicle then had some new damage to it since it had been parked at that location. An officer responded and contacted the registered owner of the vehicle. The owner planned to have the vehicle towed that day. The business was advised to have the vehicle towed at the owner's expense if it were not moved.
An officer reported vehicles in the roadway on North Highland Avenue in Washington, Wednesday night. The officer chalked the tires of all vehicles. Documentation was made.
A caller reported an illegally parked vehicle, Wednesday night at South Avenue B in Washington. An officer responded and spoke with the owner. The vehicle was moved.
A caller Thursday morning at 220th Street and Orange Avenue in Washington reported that an item fell out of the back of his vehicle and was struck by another vehicle. An officer and Moore's BP responded. Vehicle operators were Kyle Strube, of Anamosa, and Richard Reese, of Tiffin. A state accident report will be filed. Moore's towed one vehicle to a repair shop in Iowa City.
An officer reported being out with two vehicles that struck each other, Thursday afternoon at Sitler Drive and South Avenue B in Washington. An additional officer also responded. Property damage only occurred, amounting to less than $1,500. Both drivers had exchanged information.
A caller Thursday afternoon at East Jefferson Street in Washington reported that two vehicles were parked in front of his garage and he had to drive through his yard. One vehicle was moved when the operator saw him. An officer responded. A subject moved the remaining vehicle.
Disabled vehicles
A caller Wednesday afternoon at East Jefferson Street in Washington reported that a black pickup truck with a flat tire had not been moved since November 2018. An officer responded and chalked the tires and placed a 24-hour tow tag.
An officer reported being out with an unoccupied disabled vehicle, Thursday morning at 220th Street and Redwood Avenue in Washington. The vehicle was added to the system and was well off the roadway.
Assault
A caller Thursday night at East Second Street and North Fourth Avenue in Washington reported that two white males assaulted a black male. The two white males left in a white pickup pulling a trailer going westbound. Three officers responded. The incident is under investigation.
A caller Thursday night at East Third Street in Washington reported being assaulted while picking up her daughter. Three officers responded. The argument was verbal only. An officer gave the female subject a ride to a friend's house, and the juvenile subject was picked up by her grandmother.
Burglary
A caller Thursday night at North Sixth Avenue in Washington reported that subjects broke into their storage shed and placed their belongings inside. An officer responded. The subject had been living at the residence. The caller was provided their options.
Fraud
An officer reported being out with a subject at the police department reporting a scam, Thursday afternoon at South 13th Avenue in Washington. The check was stopped and no money was lost. A report will be filed.
Intimidation/harassment
A caller Thursday morning at West Madison Street in Washington reported that an employee was threatened in the parking lot of the business. An officer spoke with the employee. The report was unfounded.
Stolen property
A caller early Friday morning at North Benton Street in Brighton reported that a two-wheel trailer was stolen off his property. The trailer was registered to a friend who gave it to him. There was also a nonworking snow blower on the trailer. An officer responded. The registered owner is the one who took the items. It was a civil issue.
Suspicious activity
A caller Thursday morning at Lexington Boulevard in Washington reported finding a suspicious item at HACAP, and requested that an officer pick it up. An officer picked up the item and planned to destroy it.
Tobacco violations
A caller Thursday afternoon at South Fourth Avenue in Washington reported a student who was smoking in the locker room. An officer responded. A citation was issued to the juvenile for possession of tobacco under the legal age.
Weapons violation
A caller Thursday night at North Sixth Avenue and East 11th Street in Washington reported that a male subject was chasing her, threatening her with a weapon. She was on foot. A subject picked her up and dropped her off at Pipeliners. Two officers responded. The incident is under investigation.
Welfare check
A caller Wednesday morning at South Sixth Street in Kalona requested a welfare check on two children who were not getting the proper care and supervision that they needed. An officer responded and spoke with the mother. Everything was fine with the children, and they were being taken care of.
A caller Wednesday afternoon at Parkside Estates Road in Washington requested a welfare check on a subject. An officer responded, and the subject was fine.
A caller Thursday afternoon at West Washington Street in Washington reported that a subject was slumped over the wheel of a vehicle. An officer and an ambulance responded. The subject was sleeping, waiting for someone to pick them up.
All other theft
A caller Thursday morning at E Place in Kalona reported that her ex-boyfriend took her Harley motorcycle without permission. An officer spoke with the caller and advised her of the civil process for eviction, and to contact an attorney regarding possession of the motorcycle.
A caller Thursday afternoon at South Iowa Avenue in Washington reported that a subject who was completing construction work on her home took some items from her home to be cut, and had not returned to complete work or bring back items. An officer responded and contacted the subject, and molding was located. The caller was advised that the remaining issue would be a civil matter.
All other offenses
A caller Wednesday afternoon at Underwood Avenue and Highway 92 in Ainsworth reported an unoccupied vehicle partially in the roadway that had been there since early that morning. An officer responded. The vehicle was off the roadway and had been added to the system.
A deputy reported being out at the jail to conduct an interview for failing to appear for a mittimus, Wednesday night at Lexington Boulevard in Washington. Information will be forwarded to the county attorney's office and is under investigation. A report will be filed.

Animal complaint
A caller Wednesday morning at Highway 1 in Washington reported that a large white dog ran across two lanes of traffic and was almost hit by vehicles going both directions. An officer responded and issued a written warning to Dennis Joseph Pacha for allowing a dog to run at large.
Fire calls
A caller Wednesday morning at 560th Street S.W. in Kalona reported needing assistance in their county for a skid loader on fire. Kalona Fire responded and assisted Johnson County.
A caller Wednesday afternoon at 277th Street in Keota reported a corn field on fire. No structures were involved. Richland Fire Department responded.
Johnson County requested the Kalona Fire Department for a subject who reported smelling propane gas in their residence, Wednesday afternoon at Cosgrove Road S.W. Kalona Fire responded and assisted.
Public service contacts
A caller Wednesday morning at J Avenue in Kalona requested assistance at her residence. An officer responded and was going to try to make contact with a family member.
Suspicious activity
A caller early Thursday morning at North Marion Avenue in Washington reported hearing a noise on his back porch. He was not sure what caused the noise and said he would like an officer to check it out. An officer responded and did not locate anything.
