The Mt. Pleasant Police Department is reminding residents to remove their vehicles from city streets before the snowstorm begins Friday.
In a Facebook post Friday afternoon, the police department asks residents to move their vehicles off the streets so the Street Department can plow during the weekend.
'The Streets Department will be working up on the square moving snow overnight (after midnight), Please have all vehicles moved so they can work,” the post reads.
The City of Mt. Pleasant does have a 24 hour parking ordinance on city streets and in city parking lots, the post states.
The National Weather Service forecasts snow beginning in Mt. Pleasant around 5 p.m. Friday, with a total accumulation of around 6 inches. Snow may continue into the morning hours on Saturday, with patchy blowing snow before 3 p.m. Temperatures, however, will drop and wind chill values could be as low as zero for Mt. Pleasant. Winds can be as high as 35 miles per hour.
