Police search for driver in hit-and-run accident
Mt. Pleasant Police Department officers investigated a hit-and-run accident June 8 that occurred at the intersection of Walnut and Madison streets.

Mt. Pleasant Police Department officers investigated a hit-and-run accident June 8 that occurred at the intersection of Walnut and Madison streets.
According to the accident report, a vehicle operated by Emma Jones of Mt. Pleasant was southbound on Walnut Street when a tan or beige-color passenger car traveling east on Madison Street failed to stop at the posted stop sign. The offending vehicle struck the Jones vehicle and then continued driving.
Officers spoke with several witnesses to the accident and remain searching for the offending vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call the police department at 385-1450.
