Police searching for vehicle involved in hit-and-run

Mt. Pleasant Police are searching for a smaller four-door vehicle, possibly gray in color, which allegedly was involved in a hit-and-run accident on Saturday, July 23, at the intersection of Grand Avenue and East Bell Drive, in Mt. Pleasant.

In its accident report, police say a 2013 Chevy, owned and driven by Darius Walker, of Mt. Pleasant, was northbound on Grand and slowing to turn west on East Bell Drive when the vehicle was struck from behind by a smaller four-door vehicle.

The vehicle that struck the Walker vehicle stopped momentarily and then left the scene. The vehicle may have damage to the left front bumper/headlight area on the passenger side. Anyone with information about the vehicle is asked to call the Mt. Pleasant Police Department at 319-385-1450.
