Police seek driver from accident
The Mt. Pleasant Police Department is searching for the driver of a small black passenger car with a female driver and female passenger.
The vehicle in question was involved in a two-vehicle collision on Monday, Jan. 12 at approximately 4 p.m. near the intersection of North Cherry Street and East Monroe Street.

The Mt. Pleasant Police Department is searching for the driver of a small black passenger car with a female driver and female passenger.
The vehicle in question was involved in a two-vehicle collision on Monday, Jan. 12 at approximately 4 p.m. near the intersection of North Cherry Street and East Monroe Street.
According to police reports, a 2006 Chevy Equinox driven by Abigail Noel of Mt. Pleasant was traveling north on Cherry Street, following a small black passenger car. The black car sharply applied its brakes, causing Noel to strike it from behind. Noel pulled over, but the black car turned west on Monroe Street and drove away.
The car had damage to its rear driver side taillight. No other information about the passenger car is known. Anyone with information about the vehicle in question is asked to contact the Mt. Pleasant Police Department.
The Mt. Pleasant Police Department responded to another two-vehicle accident on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 6:44 a.m.
Police records indicate a 2013 Kia four-door driven by Natalie Burgus, of Burlington, was driving westbound on East Washington in the right lane. A 1997 Chevy four-door, driven by Gary Holtkamp, of West Point, was driving westbound in the left lane. Holtkamp attempted to turn to the right lane, striking the Burgus vehicle.
Damage is estimated at $3,000.
